Storage in Transition

At some point in life, everyone finds themselves in a transitional state.  This could include moving houses, downsizing, outgrowing a home or business, and many more reasons.  Life transitions are endless and inevitable.

My family had a huge life transition this past year.  We listed our home and land for sale in hopes of downsizing.  Something that we needed to do right away was declutter the house to open it for showings.  Of course, this led us to getting a storage unit.  It helped tremendously to clean out the attic and storage spaces in our home and move everything into a storage unit to sell the house.  Potential buyers could actually see the openness of the house and didn’t have to imagine what it looked like without all of our extra stuff.  They were able to actually imagine their belongings in the space and imagine it as their home.  We heard multiple compliments from buyers of how big and open the house looked.  I believe this was one of the reasons that our house sold.

When our house sold, we didn’t have a lot of time to move.  We were downsizing tremendously, and immediately realized that we needed to rent a second storage unit to store everything while we figured out where we were going.  We moved most everything we owned into storage as we had to stay in a hotel to look for a home.  This is when I was extremely relieved to have such a clean and reliable climate-controlled storage facility to use which happens to be the one that we own.  We tell customers all of the time that we aren’t selling them anything that we wouldn’t recommend or use ourselves.  This gave us first-hand experience of what many of our customers are going through when renting with us.

We did eventually find a home, but we realized through the process how useful it is to have a storage.  We actually decided to keep one of the units to keep our new home as clutter free as possible.  Anything that we don’t use on a regular basis and anything seasonal stayed in a unit.  We organized the unit like a closet or attic space and get things only when we need them.

We learned a lot through this transition, and we are still learning.  We learned that we could definitely use a storage unit on a regular basis to keep our home decluttered.  We also learned that this storage facility is easily accessible as customers and not just as owners.  We access our unit just like every customer using our smart-phone.  We learned that Superior Storage really is “the smart solution”!
